Hi. I'm Nat box.

Hi. I'm Nat. From January - June, 2014 I was on exchange in Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm now travelling around Europe, will update when I can (that is, probably not much at all.) Accept the challenge to follow my ramblings!

Hells Angels, Danish and the Sydney Derby

Hello!!

Sorry it's been a week since I updated! I realised this week that I actually had to do some real work, get my proposal in for the paper I have to write worth 100% for Sports Economics. The brief is basically "write up to 15 pages on something to do with sports and money", so I had to do some research. Haven't written the proposal yet, but I think I'll be looking either at the league design of the A-League, what choices they made when creating it, that sort of thing. Or, if I can track down some key information (through polite emails) about the 'success' of the Wanderers as a new team, how their marketing strategy operated, maybe compared to the GWS Giants in AFL or something, etc. I should get onto that.

Of course, the only thing the Wanderers were successful at tonight (well, lunchtime my time) was messing up and losing. (Burn). SYDNEY IS SKY BLUE!!! I made a Bet365 account and had to put $10 on it but it was totally worth it because I could stream the second half, when all the action was and it was fantastic! Earliest I've voluntarily gotten up in a long time!

Anyway, so I made this video. It will become apparent that I meant to upload it a few days ago, but like I said, I got busy. One of the captions is cut off a little, sorry, it looked different on the preview.

Hope you are having a great day!

  1. Need a haircut? yes!

Natalia was never considered for your name, but when in Kobenhavn, do as the Danish do!
Please you could stream the Sydney Derby . We enjoyed being in the crowd at the game.

  2. Hi Nat, Will look at your video shortly (currently watching a very interesting docco on SBS catch-up on Atlantis ... while multi-tasking on your blog!).

Mum & Dad sounded like they enjoyed their live Sydney FC / Wanderers experience ... though don't know if they put $10 on the result!

We didn't go the game, for a number of reason, one being that on Saturday we adopted a dog, another black Lab, called Jet. He's 2 1/2 years old and while some of his mannerisms bring flash backs of Harry, he's quite different in many ways. For a start, Jet loves the car (Harry hated it, having suffered car sickness as a young dog), he has a higher pitched bark (Harry's was a deep baritone WOOF), he's a bolted that doesn't come back when called (near disaster on Sunday when he slipped past Jaiden & ran off into Queens Park) and he suffers serious separation anxiety - Jet almost chewed through the back door when left alone for 15 minutes this morning! (Okay, so I exaggerate, but he did make a big mess & I did not look forward to breaking the news about our newly renovated door to Cheryl!)

That said, it's nice to have a dog back in the house again. As Jaiden commented on Saturday afternoon, it makes the house feel like a home again!

Now, onto something more serious, did you see my comments after your last blog post? As you comment, it was a while ago! We just want to know if you would like us to buy you a ticket to the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty for your birthday. I've checked and it looks like I can buy these online (http://www.esbnyc.com/buy_tickets.asp and http://www.statueoflibertytickets.com/Statue-Of-Liberty-Tours/).

Have a look and let us know before the Aussie dollar tumbles again the US dollar! :)

Everyone's gone to be now, except for Jet & I. Due to his anxiety issues, I'm sleep downstairs on the sofa. Not the most comfortable night's sleep, but at least I don't have to risk falling down the stairs to attend to Jet should he start woofing at a possum!

    Love Robert

  3. PS. Jaiden loves frozen peas, too - he had some as entree tonight while waiting for me to cook his dinner ;)
